Affirming Churches

There are a number of churches and other Christian groups where those who identify as LGBTQIA+ are included and affirmed unconditionally, and are welcomed to worship God alongside their fellow sisters and brothers in Christ.

If you consider your church to be inclusive and would like to be listed on our website, let us know via the contact tab. If you are not the church leader, ask them if they would like to be listed and let them know how to contact us.

The following churches in the Bristol area have told us that they are inclusive and affirming:

St. Paul’s Clifton

Our congregation includes: old and young; single and married; gay and straight; waged and unwaged; students; people from a range of differing church, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. All are welcome.

Victoria Methodist Church

Withywood Church

An Anglican/Methodist local ecumenical partnership.

South Bristol Methodist Church

Totterdown and Knowle.

The New Room

John Wesley’s chapel on the Horsefair in central Bristol.

Although many churches do not openly seem to say they are inclusive there are many which are inclusive in practice. If you are unsure about the reception you might receive then always try giving the minister a call and ask.
